Can we talk about their relationship for a second? (bc I should be working) but I think Lavinia’s closeness with Isobel was special because Lavinia’s mum had died when she was perhaps a child, and she never got the chance to feel what a mother-daughter relation was. She was surrounded by men (besides her dad we know she had an uncle, the politician) so how important was for Lavinia this new bond she created with her fiance’s mother? Very important. They should have gotten more time on screen together to explore the way they interacted and to show that motherly side of Isobel that was so endearing rather to present her to us like an obnoxious control freak who wanted to direct everything.
